Former Chief Minister of West Bengal, Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee, died aged 80 at his home in Kolkata on Thursday morning.

Former Chief Minister of Bengal and veteran communist party leader, Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee, died at 80, his family confirmed on Thursday. He passed away at his residence in Kolkata's Ballygunge at 8.20 am.
He is survived by his wife Mira and daughter Suchetana.
Communist Party of India (Marxist) state secretary Mohammed Salim confirmed the news.
Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said she was "very sad" with the news of Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee's "sudden demise".
